Montauk Light House:
Montauk Lighthouse Museum at Montauk State Park
run by the Montauk Historical Society. The
museum features the history of the lighthouse and an interactive diorama and
offers guided tours. Climb 137 steps to the enclosed deck at the top for great
views (children must be 41" tall to climb). Open daily from May 26 thru
Columbus Day and on weekends throughout the year. Costs $6.00 for adults, $5.00

Topside and Inlet Cafe are part of
the Gosman’s Dock complex. Lunch on lobster rolls, sandwiches, tuna melts and

Trail’s
End on Edgemere Road is Montauk’s
oldest restaurant, and it shows in a rare old-fashioned hospitality and

is on the water, right next door to the Viking Fleet at the Harbor. Mostly

’em, we cook ’em policy of preparing the customers’ own freshly hooked
treasures in one of many classic Chinese styles. A menu of vegetarian dishes,

options here. Very friendly and affordable and you can take out, eat inside or

- Montauk Downs State Park, designed by Robert Trent Jones, has an 18 hole golf
course, rated as one of the top fifty public courses in the country. Open to
the public for a $30 fee on weekdays, $36 on weekends all year. Tee times
change during the year. There is a driving range, putting green, a pro shop
which offers lessons and clinics for adults and kids. For advance reservations
call the Tee Time reservation system, (668-1234), and follow the prompts. You
can register two days in advance, those with an ID can register up to seven
days in advance. For information call (668-5000). A limited number of walk–on
spots are given daily on a first-come first-serve basis when the course opens
for the day.
